Spiritual awareness deeply informs Jennifer's work as a tattooist. She believes that well chosen images have the power to transform, empower and heal a person who chooses to wear them.
In addition her education in fine arts & tattooing, Jennifer has trained extensively as a healer and practioner of positive magic. Jennifer trained as a Reiki Master by Senior Reiki Master/Teacher: Jessica Miller through the Center for Reiki Training. She earned her M. A. in Psychology and Religion from Andover Newton Theological School. Jennifer is certified as a Transformational breath facilitator through the International Breath Institute. She is a graduate of Rev Sylvia Brailier's School for Body Centered Spiritual Healing. In addition Jennifer also completed the Spirit Passages's 2 year Shamanic Apprenticeship program in with teachers Evelyn C. Rysdyk and C. Allie Knowlton.
By integrating these skills, Jennifer considers tattooing one of the deepest forms of healing she can offer. Some people have mused at Jen's progression from art school, to psychic healer, to seminarian at the oldest Protestant Seminary in the country, to tattoo artist. It may seem unusual, but the whole process makes sense to her as these first experiences gave Jen not only technical abilities as an artist, but also a sensitivity to people and the skills to facilitate the transformational experiences that sometimes happen in the process of tattooing.
As an artist and a healer Jennifer approaches tattoos in a special way. Often, she will consult with you about your intentions for your tattoo, exploring the meaning and motivations for your tattoo as well as the visual imagery. Jennifer can work from your ideas, or from actual images that you provide. She encourages you to bring examples that might illustrate your ideas, however as a custom artist she will gladly illustrate your tattoo from thoughts alone. Once you and Jennifer have discussed your tattoo, you can schedule an appointment with her. Appointments with Jennifer can book many months in advance, so please plan ahead if there is a special date you are hoping for, or are traveling to Maine.
